Autumn is coming around the corner, get ready for 18th c Colonial dress with our Mens Wool Waistcoat patterned fabric perfect for upcoming cooler weather in adjustable Chest Size 42-46, newly sewn. Please view pictures both front and back views are provided with peek at interior construction and fabric. The Men’s 18th c patterned Colonial Waistcoat is cut with front scoop neck, wide armholes, front machine sewn eyelet holes to close over fancy Goldtone Swirl Buttons, adjustable tie rear and generous rear and side cut floating vents over the hips when worn for movement. Please ask any questions you like regarding fit. Our patterns are cut on slight curves for body movement, eye appeal, flattering fitment, as ALL GOOD 18th c clothing should be. Well dressed 18th c Colonial men required a proper Waistcoat over their work shirt for “State of Full Dress”, and our all pure wool tweed plaid Autumn Brown garment fits the bill in Chest Size 42-46, Via a rear adjustable tie. Please study all pictures and read description carefully,Front is sewn of a very soft warm ultra soft touch wool in a background brown color with hints of forest green houndstooth pattern with maroon windowpane weave. The rear is sewn of pure cotton with a high density that almost feels like pure silk! It is a rich eggshell color. The two fabrics make a handsome pairing together perfect for Fall and Winter.The Waistcoat is button front with beautiful gold swirl luxury buttons, vest has deep working pockets with a single button flap, and rear has adjustable tie to make snug. In the back, has Double Kick Pleat for movement, as well as deep side cut vents. This is a handsome Waistcoat to elevate your style!You may note the neckline of garment is slightly “dropped” by 2 button lengths to allow Waistcoat to open up for wearing a neckstock or Regency bowtie underneath instead of button straight up to neck. Measured laid flat across armpits is 22.5″ which doubles to 45″ but rear tie can allow 42-46 sized fit. This is a handmade garment designed for colonial reenactors one of a kind. Overall length of Waistcoat from rear of neckline to bottom is 33 3/4″. The reason Waistcoats are plain on the rear is that Men were expected to wear a top garment called a Sleeved Waistcoat on top of this in order to meet the standards of”Full Dress” in public. The rear lining is double sided, which gives extra depth, and we have hidden the center seam in the inside making the back view one piece of fabric with no lines.
