The 100 plus gun screws in this collection are (for the part) obsolete and they were made in Europe in the 1950s and 1960s for use with Pre-WWII firearms. The vast majority of the screws have a metric pitch and they were used for replacing missing screws on high-quality British, German, and Italian firearms. Most of the screw heads have the “cheese head” style with a narrow milled slot for use with conventional European gunsmith screwdrivers. The height of the heads are excessive and they were designed to be turned-down on a lathe from the underside (reduced in height) for custom application. The overall length of each screw varies. They can be further reduced in length and have extra threads added as needed. The width of the screwdriver slot on the heads is excessively narrow and they were designed to be opened-up in width, to match the dimensions of the original missing firearm screws. There is quite an assortment of metric thread pitches, head diameters, height of heads and overall lengths of the screws. Many of these screws are obsolete and most have not been made in this century. The screws are unplaited and they can be blued or heat finished to match the firearm finish. All screws are in New Old Stock condition and they have a light dusting of patina from being stored for well over 50 years. The price for over 100 screws in this collection is $80.00, which is less than .80 cents each.
