This is the Original (1sh) movie poster HORROR OF DRACULA. It is “Military Style” and is a re-release in the 1960s. The film and first original movie poster for HORROR OF DRACULA was released in 1958. This original movie poster was used by Warner Bros – Seven Arts to continue to promote this movie in the 1960s. It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, Carol Marsh, and John Van Eyssen. This restored, linen backed One Sheet (27″ x 41″) movie poster is rolled and measures 27″ x 41″. With linen backing, the poster measures 29″ x 42.50″. Prior to restoration, this original movie poster was Folded. Most original movie posters released pre-1985 are Folded. This is not considered a flaw or a defect. This original movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine/Near Mint. Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc. It is difficult to find original movie posters pre-1985 in C10 Mint condition. Prior to restoration this original movie poster was graded a C6.5. Restoration corrected the following: a. Pin holes at all 4 corners b. Missing paper at all 4 corners; c. Pinholes on the left and right borders and top and bottom borders’ d. Separation of paper at all 3 cross Folds; e. Extra creasing at all horizontal and vertical Fold lines; f. Shiny spec or two in the first “O” of “HORROR”’ g. Discoloration – loss of red color – at the top of each letter in the “HORR” of “HORROR”; h. Censor stamp at the bottom border under “Arts”; i. Lines/marks on the bottom above the “O” in “GOUGH” and above the “a” in “and”. This original movie poster of HORROR OF DRACULA (Military Style) is graded as high as we grade restored original movie posters. We follow the general standard used by some original movie poster dealers who limit restored original movie posters to a high grade of C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint. This restored original movie poster meets the criteria for above C8.5 but we limit its’ grading to C8.5. We believe that the original movie poster HORROR OF DRACULA has excellent investment value.
