For sale is vinyl record by Elton John titled “21 At 33”, originally released in 1980 by MCA Records. According to the liner notes, this album was mastered at the A&M Studios of Hollywood, California by Bernie Grundman. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped an upper case “P” between two diamonds (<>-P-<>), followed by the matrix numbers AM-7/AM-6, indicating that this early stampers were used to make this album at MCA Records’ pressing plant, located in Pinckneyville, Illinois. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering that are known for their superior sound quality, sought after by collectors and music lovers alike. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. The original inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. The two-side lyric sheet is Near Mint. The archival inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as Excellent with very minor corner blunts that are hardly noticeable, along with some ring wear. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of some superficial sleeve marks, but still with shiny and bright surfaces, without any surface scratches, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. I’m play grading this record as Near Mint. It plays all the way through without any surface noise, skips, pops or lock-ups from start to finish. It’s been played on state-of-the-art audiophile equipment since I’ve owned it and still has a lot of life left to it. I have other Rock and Roll records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They’re predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. Over the years I’ve used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I’m retiring, I’m selling my very esoteric collection. I’m not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
